Innovation and Ideas

SPACE - THE FINAL FRONTIER..........for ideas and innovation!?
First of all our mindsets which have been built up through our entire lives - in work and outside work - can act as barriers to new ideas being generated or accepted. Each individual has a personal mix of mindsets which constitutes their world and when this is aggregated you have an organisational minsetset or culture. This can act as a corporate immune system in an organisation to repel new ideas and change initiatives. Tools and techniques and effective facilitation can help to unblock or unlearn constraining beliefs. People can be creative and can generate new ideas given the support , encouragement and recognition they need to do this. Is there enough space left in your organisation for new ideas and innovation.
Secondly there is the seemingly perennial problem of people finding time to generate and deliver new ideas or innovative approaches. Improved time management can help here however there is also a need for leaders to 'clear the way' for this to be possible and for people to 'make time' rather than 'find time'. Ambidextrous leadership involves both managing the day to day operational matters - which can engulf people - while keeping one eye on the horizon and how to do things different. A systematic process embedded in the organisation can help by ensuring both lateral thinking - to generate ideas - and logical thinking - to implement ideas, are effectively combined.
We have wide experience of supporting Clients to generate the 'space' for ideas and innovation using our substantial database of creative tools and techniques.
